New York, NY: William Morrow & Co., Apollo Editions, 1970. First Paper. Wrappers. Good. From the back cover: "This is Louis Ginsberg's first volume of poetry since "The Everlasting Minute (1937) and it will reintroduce to American readers an exquisite lyric poet whose work has been called by Louis Untermeyer 'fine and sensitive.' In his introduction to 'Morning in Spring," entitled 'Confrontation with Louis Ginsberg's Poems,' Allen Ginsberg writes of his father's 'peaceful mortal voice' and is led to say, 'Would that all sons' fathers were poets!'" This copy, the first paperback printing, is in good condition with some light cover and edge wear. It is slightly warped. [001637] Ginsberg, Louis (Allen Ginsberg, Eugene Brooks). Collected Poems. Orono, ME: Northern Lights, 1992. First Edition. Wrappers. Uncorrected Proof. Near Fine. These are uncorrected page proofs. Louis Ginsberg was the father of Allen Ginsberg, and a fine poet in his own right. His son Eugene Brooks (Allen's brother, and also a poet) writes a lengthy introduction to the book, and Allen Ginsberg has contributed the epigraph, "Father Death Blues." Also included is Allen Ginsberg's introduction to Louis Ginsberg's previous volume of poetry, "Morning In Spring." The poems here include work from his three published volumes of poetry, as well as the unpublished "Our Times," completed shortly before his death in 1976. Laid in are the publisher's press release and short biography of the poet. This copy is in near fine condition, with some slight wear to the nearly-all-white wrappers and a bend to the tops of a few of the back pages.Didn't find what you were looking for? Please get in touch with us, or check out Louis Ginsberg books at Amazon.com. |
