CROSSROADS, HAIGHT-ASHBURY
San Francisco 1967
The newspaper guy stood on the corners of Haight and Ashbury for at least a year hawking The Oracle and the Berkeley Barb. He became a fixture in the Haight and the focus of every request, con and hustle around. He got hit on for everything.

FAMILY IN THE HAIGHT
San Francisco 1967
I was shooting for Frank Werber who owned Trident Productions. He had managed the Kingston Trio in the past and was now managing some rock and folk groups. We were going to do a book; he was my backer at the time. I was photographing families inside their environments to show what is like to live in the counter-culture with a child.

HIPPIE PAD
San Francisco 1967
This image was part of my documentary on interior environments in the counter-culture. This cat's place was in the Haight.
