San Francisco 1965, 1999This portrait of Michael McClure was originally taken from my session with Dylan and Ginsberg at City Lights. The photo was my best version of Michael, but it was not very sharp. I had already titled the shot but could not produce it to my satisfaction. It was like an itch I could not scratch. Finally, with the help of Photoshop and the computer I was able to sharpen his portrait. At that point, I wanted to do a tribute to Michael McClure as I saw him in the 60s. The 12 images are how I saw him then as The Kansas Kid.
