City Lights Books 50th Anniversary Celebration

	FERLINGHETTI IN HIS OFFICE San Francisco 2003 Lawrence's office consists of several rooms, all of which have desks and boxes of books, files, etc. all piled around. With the walls covered with posters, notices, photographs (some are mine) it is one big collage. No, on second thought, it is one big assemblage. I love the "HOWL for a Bud" sign on the door.
	FERLINGHETTI'S OFFICE PHONE San Francisco, 2003 I was wandering around Lawrence's office looking for shots when I spotted his telephone. It hits you right in the face when one sees something like the notice attached to the phone. Ferlinghetti has been in the forefront of "free speech" since the 1950's.
	ANDREI CODRESCU San Francisco 2003 What a thrill it was to finally meet Andrei. I have listened to and enjoyed his social/cultural commentary for many years on NPR radio. He is a fellow surrealist. He teaches college and publishes a newsletter or publication called the Exquisite Corpse.
