They were once
streetfighers
these Berkeley
doctors, rabbis,
politicians,
nerds, lawyers
and realtors -

but time took away
their passion and reflexes
arthritis patiently waiting
to take the rest the best.

Buried in their will
it ?s all still there
ready to run
like a home movie
of a family picnic -

their professions
are masks
assumed aka's -

their souls wait for a redeemer.

A flaming reflection
of forty years ago -
their youth come again.
