About James Schwartz

James Schwartz is a gay ex-Amish poet and slam performer. His poetry has been published in many poetry journals, including Poetry 24, Babel: The Multilingual Multicultural Online Journal, Nostrovia! Poetry, Silver Birch Press blog, Diversity Rules Magazine, and WritersResist.com. His book, The Literary Party: Growing Up Gay and Amish in America. His poetry has been widely anthologized, and several essays published with more forthcoming.

A seasoned slam performer, he has performed at The Meta Café, This is Fire! The Zoo Bar and at a Barack Obama Inauguration Day party.
