About Shih Yun Yeo

Shih Yun Yeo is a Singaporean artist. Throughout her artistic career, she has been enchanted with Chinese ink and the loose and expressive brush strokes of Robert Motherwell and the like. She strives to harmonize the traditional medium with the contemporary nature of the stylistic expression. At times, she combines painting with screen printing techniques; other times, she employs robotic devices into the process and further removes the element of control in favor of chance in the making of unique marks and textures.

A recipient of multiple national art awards in Singapore, she works as a full-time artist and as a founding manager of INSTINC, an independent, artist-for-artist creative working space in Singapore. See more of her work at shihyunyeo.com.
