Gathr Films Serves Up National Theatrical Screenings of Big Sur
Adaptation of the Classic Jack Kerouac Novel Available Exclusively in Theaters Through Gathr Preview Series
In celebration of Jack Kerouac’s life and legacy, Gathr Films is pleased to exclusively bring Big Sur to select theaters across the nation in the month of October. The Gathr Preview Series is an independent film series that gives audiences in smaller cities the chance to see the best new independent films in theaters – before anyone else in the country.
Based on the 1962 novel by American literary icon Jack Kerouac, Big Sur recounts the events surrounding Kerouac’s three brief sojourns to a cabin in Bixby Canyon, Big Sur, owned by Kerouac’s friend and fellow Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The story departs from Kerouac’s previous fictionalized autobiographical series in that the self-inspired character is shown as a popular, published author; Kerouac’s previous works are restricted to depicting Kerouac’s days as a bohemian traveler.

Is there any chance of more dates being added? *cough, cough* specifically south Jersey? Words cannot even express how much I am looking forward to this movie. Almost to tears.
