Kate Brown is interested in conveying the idea of space, both interior and exterior. After decades of working in abstraction, she has recently added the most universal of shapes to her compositions -- the simple bowl.
Kate lives 3 hours north of Toronto, Canada in a region called Muskoka. Until recently, she lived for six years by herself in a cabin in the woods twelve miles from the nearest town.
You can see more of her work at KateBrownArt.com, on Instagram @kbrown6607, and at ccca.ca.
Established in 2000 and edited by Denise Enck, Empty Mirror is an online literary magazine that publishes new work each Friday.
Each week EM features several poems each by one or two poets; reviews; critical essays; visual art; and personal essays.
